9 Drama 2 Improvisation and Devising
Course Description

Have you ever wondered how people make stories? Stories are all around us: in movies, television shows, books and even Instagram! Learn how to research a New Zealand story and find an interesting way of telling the story using drama conventions, music and movement. Conventions are tools used in drama to assist in telling a story or convey meaning and ideas.
In the second half of the semester, you will discover what it takes to act and perform scripted scenes.
- Develop devising skills and practise acting techniques
- Develop and refine competent performance skills
- Compare and contrast New Zealand stories and how they relate to us
