Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr H. Wiramanaden.
In Physics, you will investigate physical phenomena (in the areas of mechanics, electricity, electromagnetism, waves and modern physics) and produce qualitative and quantitative explanations for a variety of unfamiliar situations.
Recommended Prior Learning
It is recommended that students have achieved all standards (AS91168, AS91170, AS91171 and AS91173) in NCEA Level 2 Physics.
It is beneficial if students have achieved AS91257, AS91261, AS91262 from NCEA Mathematics Level 2.

This course prepares students for tertiary level study in science and STEM based areas.
Assessment Information
Practical Investigation - A 3-hour practical investigation run in a continuous slot. Students will be allocated an examination session during week 5 of term 2. They only have to be at one session.Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
